Prevention Program
At Village Arms, we are committed to breaking the cycle of overrepresentation of African American families in the child welfare system by providing in-home, community-based support to families before they come into contact with Child Protective Services (CPS).
Our Prevention Program is designed to empower families, strengthen parenting capacity, and promote child safety through culturally specific, proactive interventions that keep families together.
Our Prevention Program provides in-home and community-based services that equip parents with the tools and resources needed to safely care for their children, reducing the risk of CPS involvement.
Through strengths-based, culturally specific interventions, Village Arms:
Empowers families by identifying and building on their strengths, ensuring parents feel supported rather than scrutinized.
Provides direct access to essential resources, including housing support, food assistance, transportation, employment services, and financial stability programs.
Offers hands-on parenting skills development to enhance caregivers’ ability to create safe, nurturing environments for their children.
Delivers crisis intervention and stabilization services to prevent circumstances that may lead to unnecessary CPS referrals.
